Silver Linings

Well this past has been one for the record books! Everything that could go wrong went wrong and then once it went wrong it snowballed into an even more messy pile of wrongness! However, in spite of all the chaos we've endured since last Wednesday I am going to try to find the silver lining in every one of my dilemmas, so here we go:
1. WEDNESDAY-Medi-cal disaster with kids insurance=I have insurance, who cares how hard I have to work to get it figured out! I am grateful that my kids can see a doctor, get shots, go to hospital and not run us into crazy debt with medical bills!
2. WEDNESDAY-Neglected house, visiting teaching appointment, screaming children...=My husband kindly offered to fix lunch for the kids so that I could clean up the disaster (aka paint that Noah had so kindly spilt on the floor prior to drinking it) and make our home a little more calm.
3. THURSDAY-Burnt out Mamma, pent up kids, overworked Daddy, lots of crying=Roseville galleria mall play place Thank you for reopening! You salvaged my day and refocused me on what's really important!
4. FIRDAY-Miscommunications, hurt feelings, frustrations=All the drama of the day aside I was able to talk to my bestie who made me feel tons better and headed to the temple with some close friends. Felt the spirit so strong in the sealing room!
5. SATURDAY-Horrible morning, late getting out, bad allergies, kids screaming, car stolen, allergic reactions, suburns=car was found with no damage, officer was nice, got allergy pills which worked but made me sleepy (however after the week I had it was a nice change). Great day in Sonoma, awesome memories with Mom and Fred!
6. SUNDAY-Stomach flu, baby crying, husband in pain, me with a migraine, messy beds, Ethan screaming, no sleep, doctor phone calls, no church, finding out Preston doesn't have prescription coverage on his insurance, and a baby who figured out how to climb out of his crib-Preston offered to clean up the throw up, which is good since I am a sympathetic gagger! Children eventually calmed down, husband got meds that are working, got to see the priesthood in action, saw how awesome our parents are, we are appreciating Noah's strong personality and can see that although it makes us a little crazy, it will serve him well in life.

Basically, after a little reflection it puts it all in perspective. We are alive, well, and happy. We have a home, and a car. Our children are healthy, our needs are met, our family is wonderful, and we are blessed to know that we are being tested only because God sees more of our potential than we do, and of course the church is true. Would I relive this weekend...maybe not, but I really do have a lot to be grateful for!
